erm... I hope you are aware that an endpoint is a basic_endpoint
(through inheritance)?
boost::asio::ip::tcp::endpoint target(
boost::asio::ip::address::from_string( "127.0.0.1" ), 1000 );
socket_.async_connect( target, bind( ... ) );
