Thanks for the pointer. I've finally gotten used to the fact
that the Documentation link on the boost.org home page
doesn't include (for some reason) the documentation hidden
under libs/<library name>/doc/*. Now I see that to find out
about serialization, I need to not only check the various
serialization documentation pages, but the library documentation
to see that IT says about serialization.
Anyway, that's good news. Thanks for the pointer.
