I won't be able to spend a lot of time on the library for the next 2-3
weeks. If everything goes according to plan, mid May looks like a
realistic time for a version that exposes the new interface (with the
docs changed accordingly). From then on it's probably another month (of
implementation changes and docs additions) until before the lib reaches
a stage that allows addition to the main CVS.
