It appears that the circular_buffer no longer has a maintainer. I have a
patch that fixes a problem introduced in the latest versions of the
circular buffer that it can not correctly work with a custom memory
allocator.
The patch is provided here:

The former maintainer suggested to submit a request to this list, so that
the patch is included in the daily build and the next release.
