As an additional note, I am seeing substantial system-to-system variation in
performance results; a friend of mine saw a 2X average integer_sort speed
improvement on a Windows system, where I only see 34% (but 70% on Mac OSX).
It would be helpful to obtain results from many different systems when this
is reviewed.
