I don't mind using more descriptive names, e.g.:
BOOST_DSO_SYMBOL_EXPORT/IMPORT or
BOOST_SHARED_LIBRARY_SYMBOL_EXPORT/IMPORT or simply
BOOST_SYMBOL_EXPORT etc.
I guess, this should be discussed with boost community
