No need to do that. They are currently broken in boost 1.33.1 anyway (it is
as bad as syntax errors, iirc), and apparently have been for some time ...
for those who need to support Mac OS 9, CodeWarrior 9/10 (the last compilers
supporting Mac OS 9), have a boost::thread compatible implementation that
can be made work as a drop-in replacement for boost threads on Mac OS 9.
