Sounds reasonable to me, there's a first cut at this in mainline cvs now,
note that you don't specify a trailing ".lib" to the library name, so
something like:
#define BOOST_LIB_NAME zlib
#define BOOST_AUTO_LINK_NOMANGLE
# include <boost/config/auto_link.hpp>
would link to "zlib.lib".
