The easiest method, I would think, would be to checkout the repository
and create the tar file on a system which supports files with execute
permission, since it would be tedious to try to specify the permissions
on the tar command-line, and certain files, such as build.sh, should
have execute permission. Perhaps a Sourceforge system could be used.
