There was recently lengthy discussion of this on one of the C++ committee
reflectors. (I didn't follow it closely because it isn't of personal
interest.) Should someone working on a submission review that
discussion? Did you happen to keep a copy of key messages?
Related question: Is the approach you propose something that is likely to
be well-received by the committee, or is it controversial?
