I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to see TCP/IP and related 
connectivity components in Boost.

But before inventing a solution from scratch, please review what other 
folks have been doing.  My favorite search engine turns up 39,000 responses 
to a query for "TCP/IP sockets library". There is already a huge amount of 
prior art out there, it seems.
