Paul,
Your replies to Dave Abrahams and Herve Bronnimann amount to a nice
rationale for several aspects of class rational. You might consider adding
them to the docs as a "Design Rationale" or "Rational FAQ" page.
Making this kind of material available can save a lot of time over the
years that is otherwise wasted revisiting old issues.
When and if the C++ committee looks at the standardization of boost
libraries, it will be also very helpful to have rationale available.
